Did you know Red Rock Pest Control specializes in helping prevent termites from damaging lovely Denver-area homes and businesses? These ant-like insects gnaw through wood. They reside in colonies. A single nest may contain up to half a million individuals. While these insects perform a useful role in the wild by removing dead wood from forest floors, in our area they frequently also pose a significant threat to real estate values. A termite does not distinguish between rotting tree stumps and the wood framing materials used in construction. If you notice the presence of these pests in your yard, a termite colony may also have intruded into man-made structures on the property.

Termites: An Insidious Threat

Unfortunately, termite activity often defies easy detection. Although a single colony typically includes thousands upon thousands of insects, termites tend to avoid contact with humans. A single colony may cause enormous property damage by burrowing deep inside wood, creating cavities and hollow channels inside timbers, flooring, beams and other structures. Sometimes a rickety wooden step or a sagging front porch becomes the first sign alerting a homeowner to a termite infestation.

The fires which swept through Colorado a few years ago helped create ideal conditions for some termite populations. The presence of large quantities of rotting wood on nearby forest floors helped colonies thrive. Now real estate owners in the Denver Area must remain alert for possible signs of termite damage. To ensure your home or business does not sustain losses from this source, contact Red Rock Pest Control. We specialize in controlling these hard-to-eliminate pests.

Request a Termite Inspection

Our well-trained technicians routinely perform termite inspections throughout the Denver Area. We possess the experience required to notice subtle signs of termite activity. Many members of the public confuse these insects with ants. If you do happen to see a termite, the odds remains high hundreds of other members of the colony remain nearby, hidden from view.

During termite inspections, we pay close attention to the presence of any shelter (or “mud”) tubes. Termite colonies frequently build these intricate covered passageways along the exteriors of exposed basement foundations. Formed from dirt and insect feces, the tubes allow termite columns to travel more easily across the surface without encountering predators. Property owners sometimes mistake termite shelter tubes for encrusted or embedded mud deposited during storms.

Why Termite Detection Matters

The presence of even a single termite colony can cause painful property losses to Denver Area real estate owners over the course of time. Requesting an annual inspection to ensure your home and grounds remain termite-free brings greater peace of mind. Additionally, by obtaining an inspection on a yearly basis, you’ll improve your ability to detect termite infestations rapidly.

You can ask Red Rock Pest Control to implement measures to help protect your residence from these voracious pests. Initiating termite treatment as soon as possible after an infestation helps prevent the destruction of wooden structures within the home. Every year in the United States, termite activity causes millions of dollars in real estate losses. Recovering from a protracted infestation may require the replacement of some damaged portions of the residence. Early detection enables you avoid extensive home repair bills.

We called yesterday and spoke with Dustin who was very professional and friendly. We had John, his partner out this AM ( came right on time within window of 2 hrs given) and was sooooo great! He explained what the process was and why as well as answered all our questions! He even helped roll out 4 long rolls of carpet ( not installed yet in our new home) to spray them preventatively! He was very professional and friendly as well! He will be back out in a month so we will see how the spray works… But so far the service has been excellent! Thank u John & Dustin!

These guys are great! Very professional and very Knowledgeable. I called them this morning because I saw a few scorpions in the backyard last night and wanted to start treatment ASAP! They were out here this evening and sprayed the entire perimeter of the house. They go over everything that they’re doing and answer any questions or concerns you may have. This company is best! Proud to say that I am now a customer with them.
